Suleiman Bekit is a versatile artist, caricaturist, and educator known for his distinctive style of abstract realism, which blends expressive abstract elements with realistic human imagery.
His work explores themes of identity, emotion, and the human condition through bold colors, symbolic forms, and strong narrative depth.
Beyond fine art, Bekit has made notable contributions as a caricature artist for major newspapers, using humor and satire to comment on social and political issues. He has also played an active role in cultural development through his work at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Center and as an art educator in Sweden, where he encourages students to combine classical techniques with modern expression.
Bekit’s work has been exhibited internationally, including in Sweden, Germany, and the Middle East, reflecting his deep connections to African and Arab cultural influences. His career has earned him multiple awards, recognizing his originality, emotional impact, and ability to connect with diverse audiences.

Art Projects

  • ”My View of Sweden” (Min syn på Sverige): One of his most significant public projects was an exhibition at the Skoindustrimuseet (The Shoe Industry Museum) in Kumla.
    • Theme: The exhibition featured artwork created by his students, focusing on their perceptions of Sweden—covering themes like freedom, safety, and human rights.
    • Goal: The project aimed to bridge the gap between long-term residents and newcomers by using art as a medium for dialogue.
  • Design projects for the school environment: Art and design students have been recognized in NA for their artistic sketches and suggestions for how the School environment can be improved.
  • Peace Poster Contest: He frequently organizes student participation in international initiatives like the Lions Peace Poster Contest, encouraging local youth  to visualize global peace and unity.
